ALI Alumni and Friends 2025-26

Assessment Learning Institute 3-part event

The Michigan Assessment Consortium (MAC) has hosted the Assessment Learning Institute (ALI) for several years, providing classroom teachers—many of whom are new to the profession—with foundational knowledge and skills related to classroom assessment.

The ALI focuses on key areas such as:

  • Assessment Literacy
  • Balanced Assessment Systems
  • The Formative Assessment Process
  • Accurate, High-Quality Classroom Summative Assessment Development and Use
  • Students as Partners in the Assessment Process

Additionally, we have explored topics such as:

  • Pre-Assessment Practices
  • Instructionally Embedded Modes of Assessment
  • Authentic Performance Assessment
  • Formative Feedback

These areas have been instrumental in rethinking classroom assessment and practice.

Over the past seven years, ALI has impacted approximately 200 educators. To build on this success, we established the ALI Alumni Series, now entering its second year, to reconnect with past participants and delve deeper into key topics that merit further exploration.

Our goal is to move beyond knowledge sharing and into meaningful implementation — creating space for collaboration, reflection, and real-world application that empowers and fortifies teachers in using classroom assessment to support student learning.

Note: All events are virtual from 4:30-6:00pm ET.

Registration for the full series is $100 for ALI Alumni and $130 for all others.
